W/W (Weight/Weight)âw/wâ, often referred to as âweight over weightâ is a term used to describe the concentration of components in a solution. More specifically, w/w is expressed as the mass of solute (active ingredient) dissolved in 100g of solution. For example, if a solution is described as containing 10% glucose in water by mass, it means that 10g of glucose is dissolved in 90 g of water resulting in 100g of solution.
